High Speed Centrifuges

High-speed centrifuges are essential for protocols requiring fast and precise separation of fine particles, including viruses, organelles, and subcellular components. Be Scientific’s lineup is built for performance, safety, and adaptability.

The Sigma 3-30KS is a refrigerated, high-speed benchtop centrifuge achieving peaks over 70,000 × g (up to 30,000 rpm). It features an intuitive Spincontrol S interface, space-saving design, and programmable storage for up to 60 run profiles. Temperature control spans from –20 °C to +40 °C, with rapid pre-cooling, rotor cooling at rest, automatic rotor identification, motorised lid lock, imbalance detection, and rotor life tracking - all housed in a stainless steel chamber with a viewing window.

For high-volume centrifugation needs, the Sigma 4-16S accommodates up to four 750 ml bottles or six 250 ml tubes using swing-out or fixed-angle rotors. It reaches speeds up to 13,500 rpm (~4,643 × g) and includes programmable Spincontrol S, large display, low-noise operation, automatic rotor ID, and safety features like imbalance monitoring and rotor life tracking. A refrigerated option (Sigma 4-16KS) is also available for temperature-sensitive applications.

The Sigma 3-18KS brings refrigerated performance to compact benchtop spinning, making it suitable for labs requiring chilled centrifugation without needing a large instrument.

Based in rural Shropshire, our team combines deep centrifuge expertise with personal support to help you select the best high-speed centrifuge based on capacity, cooling needs, and space constraints.

FAQs

What speeds and forces can these centrifuges achieve?
The Sigma 3-30KS reaches speeds up to 30,000 rpm, delivering over 70,000 × g. The Sigma 4-16S operates up to 13,500 rpm (~4,643 × g).

Do any models include refrigeration or temperature control?
Yes. The Sigma 3-30KS offers a temperature range from –20 °C to +40 °C with pre-cooling and rotor cooling at rest. The Sigma 4-16KS provides similar control in a high-capacity model.
